The 31st Annual Charity and Awards Nite of TANKER Foundation will be held Thursday, January 25, 2024, at 5.30 pm at Savera Hotel, Chennai.

The function will begin with The Mr. S.V. Venkatesan & Mrs. Malathi Venkatesan TANKER Foundation Memorial Lecture by Ms. Shanthi Rajmohan, a brave warrior and a person who is on CAPD long term (20+ years). She will be speaking on ’My trials and tribulations – Grit to live’.

This will be followed by the presentation of awards. Chief Guest, Mr. Gagandeep Singh Bedi, IAS, Principal Secretary – Health and Family Welfare, Tamil Nadu government, will be distributing the awards.

The K.V. George Kottukulam Memorial TANKER & Kerala Kidney Research Foundation Young Investigator Award for outstanding research done in the field of nephrology in India is being awarded to Dr. Pallav Gupta. The award is for his research into ‘An Unforeseen Entity in Uncontrolled Hypertension with Kidney Dysfunction: Atypical Hemolytic Uremic Syndrome’. The award will carry a cash prize of Rs. 2,00,000, a citation and a gold medallion.

The Renny Abraham TANKER Foundation Love for Service Award for a medical doctor who has gone beyond the call of duty in serving the underprivileged is being awarded to Dr Kamalakannan R. The award will carry a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000, a citation and a gold medallion.

The K. Venkatanarayana TANKER Foundation Awareness Award given to an individual for creating awareness of any disease, mental, physical and social. This is being awarded to Mr. Amandeep Singh Kandhari, who has been creating awareness of disasters, mobilising help and creating awareness during floods and the pandemic. The award will carry a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000, a citation and a gold medallion.

The La Renon TANKER Foundation for the Sake of Honour Award is given to an individual who has done exemplary work in his or her field. This is being awarded to Ms. Shanthi Rajmohan, a brave warrior and a person who is on CAPD long term (20+ years). The award will carry a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000, a citation and a gold medallion.

The La Renon TANKER Foundation Lifetime Achievement Awards are given to two individuals who have done exemplary work in the field of nephrology. This is being awarded to Dr. Sanjeev Gulati, New Delhi, and Dr. Sharad Madanlal Sheth, Mumbai, who have served tirelessly in the field of kidney disease. The award will carry a cash prize of Rs. 1,00,000, a citation and a gold medallion each.

The Ashok Sankaralingam TANKER Foundation Patient Endowment – One year dialysis support is given for 4 underprivileged patients with kidney failure Rs. 2,00,000.

This will be followed by honouring the enablers and TANKER staff.
