Students of N.M.S. Sermathai Vasan College in Madurai showed keen interest in learning about kidney health at the awareness programme conducted in their institution by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation Tuesday, January 20, 2026. Ms. Veeralakshmi of the TAPP team cleared all the doubts of the students.

Remarks: The awareness programme was organised by Ms. Harini, an intern from The American College, Madurai.
The programme began with an introductory talk by Ms. Veeralakshmi, who explained the mission and activities of TANKER Foundation. This was followed by an interactive awareness session in which she explained the causes, symptoms and preventive measures for kidney diseases.
During the session, students actively participated and asked questions related to headaches, duration of dialysis, diet and PCOD-related concerns.
Their doubts were clarified, and special emphasis was given to the importance of regular blood pressure and diabetes monitoring for maintaining kidney health.
