A screening camp was organised by an intern of The American College, Madurai, Ms. Harini, at the N.M.S. Sermathai Vasan College for Women in Madurai, at Avaniyapuram, Tuesday, January 20, 2026. It was conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation. Teaching and non-teaching staff benefited from the camp and it was a relief that the urine samples were without glucose or protein.

Remarks: The screening camp was organised by Ms. Harini, an intern from The American College, Madurai. During the camp, three participants were newly-detected with elevated blood sugar levels.
Another three participants were newly-identified with high blood pressure.
It was a relief that no participants showed the presence of glucose or protein in urine.
Based on the findings during the screening camp, one high-risk individual was referred to the nearest primary health centre (PHC) for further evaluation and follow-up care.
