Appreciating TANKER Foundation’s efforts, Dr. D.V.R. Prakash Rao, Chairman and Managing Director, Prakash Foods & Feed Mills Private Limited, said he will support them again in the future.
He said this Wednesday, April 10, 2024, while inaugurating a new dialysis machine, donated by Prakash Foods & Feed Mills Private Limited to The Rekha Memorial Renny Abraham Ambattur Rotary TANKER Foundation Dialysis Unit at Ambattur.
Dr. Prakash Rao donated the dialysis machine in memory of his wife, Mrs. Bala Tripura Sundari. Their son Sriram, a Rotarian, was also present at the inauguration.
TANKER Foundation Founder Trustee, Dr. Georgi Abraham, who welcomed the gathering, conveyed his gratitude to Dr. Prakash Rao. He said it was important to do research work into kidney disease and transplantation. He requested Dr. Prakash Rao for support.
TANKER Foundation Managing Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, thanked Rotary Club of Ambattur, Ambattur Rotary Hospital, Greater Chennai Corporation, CMCHIS and other valuable donors for their regular support.
She said TANKER Foundation has done almost 6.60 lakh dialysis and is now helping 891 patients through its 14 dialysis centres. Awareness programmes have been done for almost 2 lakh people and screening camps conducted for 42,212 people for early detection of kidney disease, she said. TANKER’s staff are Angels on Earth, who are totally selfless and dedicated in helping the needy, she added.
