Organised as part of the NSS students’ rural camp initiative of C. Kandaswami Naidu College, Chennai, a screening camp was conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at Thiruverkadu, Friday, March 28, 2025.

Remarks: Organised by C. Kandaswami Naidu College, the screening camp was part of the students’ NSS rural camp initiative, aimed at promoting early detection of kidney-related issues.
The 90 members of the general public underwent all the relevant tests.
The camp detected 21 new diabetes cases and the team found that five participants had high blood pressure.
Also, the random blood sugar of 29 people was more than 140. There were 10 referrals.
Dr. Harish Raj provided essential dietary advice to the participants, emphasising the importance of proper nutrition in maintaining kidney health.
