Inaugurating the 14th dialysis centre of TANKER Foundation at Padi, Tamil Nadu Minister for Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments, Mr. P.K. Sekar Babu, said it would benefit the people of the area as dialysis would be totally free. He thanked all those who worked towards the project.
The Padi dialysis centre is the result of collaboration among Greater Chennai Corporation, Rotary Club of Madras West, Kerala Catholic Society, and TANKER Foundation. It was inaugurated Wednesday May 25, 2022, at the Urban Primary Community Health Centre in Padi.
It is to be noted that this is TANKER Foundation’s 7th dialysis centre with Greater Chennai Corporation.
Dr. Manish S. Narnaware, Deputy Commissioner, Health, Dr. M. Jagadeesan, City Health Officer, Dr. M.S. Hemalatha, City Medical Officer, represented Greater Chennai Corporation.
Dr. Georgi Abraham, Founder-Trustee of TANKER Foundation, who lit the traditional lamp along with the Minister and other dignitaries, said TANKER had done over 4.80 lakh dialyses so far and given donations of over Rs. 3.5 crores.
He added that TANKER has helped set up dialysis centres in Imphal, in Manipur, MGM Pondicherry, Tanzania, Vennikulam, in Kerala, and Port Blair, in Andamans.
Dr. Georgi Abraham thanked the TANKER staff and all frontline workers for their selfless service, especially during the pandemic.
