The TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation organised a screening camp at Magic Bus Foundation, Chennai, Tuesday, September 9, 2023.

Dr. Sharmila guided the TAPP team of Mrs. Ramapriya and Mrs. Deepa as also the volunteers: Ms. Azhageswari and Ms. Swetha, interns from Madras University, and Ms. Jeevarani, an intern from D.G. Vaishnav College, Arumbakkam.

In all, 84 students and staff members participated in the camp that was held at Arumbakkam. Their BMI and blood pressure was checked and their capillary blood glucose and urine tested.

The TAPP team found most female participants had high BMI. They also detected some new hypertension cases. Such people were referred to private hospitals and primary health centres.

Those who had abnormal values were asked to visit the TAPP clinic in Ambattur unit for further care.
