On the second day of the screening camp at Komarapalayam, Namakkal, the kidney health of 160 people was evaluated by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation on Tuesday, February 10, 2026. Dr. Tharun guided the TAPP team consisting of Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, TAPP Head, Mrs. Ramapriya, Mr. Hemeshwaran and Mrs. Deepa. Mr. Jinukumar – Area Manager, and Mr. Dhivagar – Shift In-Charge constituted the Tiruppur team.

Remarks: The screening camp was referred by Mr. Raman from Daasya Trust. The team received a warm welcome and effective local coordination support from Mr. Prakash of Vidiyal Arambam Foundation.
Of the total participants, 49 individuals had elevated blood sugar levels and 68 had high blood pressure. Among these, 43 and 32 cases were newly-detected for high blood sugar and high blood pressure respectively.
Furthermore, 33 individuals showed urine abnormalities and 98 participants were found to have BMI above the normal range.
TAPP Head, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, provided personalised health counselling to all participants. Guidance was given on managing BMI, blood pressure and blood sugar levels through a balanced diet, regular exercise and healthy lifestyle modifications.
Based on the screening outcomes, 44 high-risk individuals were referred to the nearest primary health centre (PHC) for further medical evaluation and follow-up.
