The Rotary Club of Anna Nagar Adithya sponsored a screening camp by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation, for the fishermen community at Srinivasapuram Community Hall, Pattinapakkam, Chennai.

The camp was conducted Tuesday, November 21, 2023, which was also Fishermen’s Day.

In all, 97 people, 39 of them women, were screened at the camp and had their height, weight, BMI and blood pressure checked. Random blood sugar and a simple urine test to check the presence of glucose and protein in the urine was also done.

While the doctor checked the results and gave appropriate advice to each and every one of the participants, educative materials were also distributed to everyone.

People with abnormal values were referred to the Pattinapakkam primary health centre for further assessment.
