A screening camp was held at Choolai, Chennai, by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation Saturday, October 18, 2025, for the general public. Dr. Kabilan guided the TAPP team consisting of Mrs. Ramapriya, Mr. Hemeshwaran, Mrs. Deepa and Mrs. Bhuvana. Ex-MP Balaganga was present at the camp.

Remarks: The kidney screening camp’s primary objective was to promote awareness on kidney health and lifestyle-related diseases among the general public.
The screening results indicated that 18 individuals had elevated blood sugar levels, including 11 newly-identified cases. Also, 14 participants were found to have high blood pressure. Four participants showed presence of glucose and protein in their urine samples.
Based on these findings, 11 high-risk individuals were referred to the nearest primary health centre (PHC) for further medical evaluation and follow-up care.
Apart from conducting the tests, the TAPP team also emphasised the importance of maintaining normal blood sugar and blood pressure levels through a balanced diet and regular physical activity.
Ex-Member of Parliament, Mr. Balaganga, was present at the camp. He was honoured by the TAPP team with a TANKER memento in appreciation of his presence and support.
