A total of 45 members of the general public benefited from the screening camp conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at Madhanan Kuppam in Chennai, Thursday, January 22, 2026. Dr. Sharmila guided the TAPP team of Mrs. Ramapriya, Mr. Hemeshwaran, Mrs. Deepa and Mrs. Bhuvana. Intern – Ms. Kavya from University of Madras was a valuable asset for the TAPP team.

Remarks: During the screening camp 20 individuals were found to have elevated blood sugar levels, including seven newly-detected cases.
Also, eight participants were found to have high blood pressure, with seven newly-identified cases.
It was found that one participant had protein in urine and glucose was detected in the urine of seven persons.
Based on the screening results, 14 high-risk individuals were referred to the nearest primary health centre (PHC) for further evaluation and follow-up.
