Singing at the Dindigul unit was a delight, declares TANKER Foundation Trustee and singer, Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao.
Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao has taken it upon herself to visit various TANKER Foundation dialysis units and sing for the patients to help boost their morale.
On Friday, January 30, 2026, she was at the Dindigul dialysis unit, singing for the patients there.
The feedback she got from the patients was amazing: they said that it was a welcome, an enjoyable and a relaxing change for them.
They added that they didn’t feel the time pass at all.
According to her, the icing on the cake was the Saravana Hospital staff joining the TANKER singers towards the end and singing along for every song with gusto, enthusing and encouraging the patients to join in too!
The TANKER Trustee also interacted with the patients and said she heard great appreciation and accolades for the way the unit is run and the wonderful work of the staff.
Many of them in Dindigul travel by bus or two-wheelers from nearby towns and villages and are extremely satisfied with the treatment they receive at the units.
Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao said, “I met a patient who is an amputee and drives his tri-wheeler to the unit for his dialysis sessions. It was heart-wrenching and heart-warming at the same time to see his courage and positivity.”
She said he answered most of the questions in the music quiz and received a TANKER key chain as a small gift. He is sure to treasure it!
Another patient started crying while talking about his kidney disease and also expressed his appreciation for TANKER for the treatment he receives at the Dindigul unit. “It made me teary too!” says an emotional Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao.
Referring to her singing at the Madurai unit the previous day and the experience in Dindigul, the TANKER trustee said: “In all, two wonderful, fulfilling, inspiring and humbling mornings!”
