TANKER Foundation Trustee, Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao, was in her element at the Madurai dialysis unit on the morning of Thursday, January 29, 2026.

She came ready to sing for the patients to lift up their spirits. In turn, she was showered with love and appreciation from them.

One of the patients, to express his gratitude for Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao’s gesture, went and got a shawl (ponnadai in Tamil) for her! He draped it around her shoulders to show his appreciation.

“Was truly humbled and so grateful for the love and appreciation,” said Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao about the gesture.

Another patient sang from his bed a rollicking Tamil number from a movie.

One of the Madurai staff, Leena, showed that she was adept at singing as she was at handling the dialysis patients of the unit.

There were a lot of requests from the patients who wanted to hear their favourite songs being sung by the TANKER Trustee.

“Was a lovely and exhilarating morning, indeed,” said Mrs. Sudha Lakshmi Rao.
