The 32nd Annual Charity and Awards Nite of TANKER Foundation will be held Monday, January 27, 2025, at Hotel Savera, Chennai.
Tamil Nadu Minister of Health and Family Welfare, Mr. Ma. Subramanian, will be the chief guest, while Mr. M. Anandan, Founder and Executive Chairman, Aptus Value Housing Finance Ltd., will be the guest of honour.
The Mr. S.V. Venkatesan and Mrs. Malathi Venkatesan TANKER Foundation Memorial Lecture will be delivered by Mr. V. Gururajan on the topic: ‘Journey of a Kidney Transplant Patient’. He is a post-transplant survivor for 32 years.
Following this, various awards will be presented.
The K. V. George Kottukulam Memorial TANKER & Kerala Kidney Research Foundation Young Investigator Award for outstanding research done in the field of nephrology in India is being awarded to Dr. Mythri Shankar, for her research into ‘Potential Diagnostic Role of Urinary Exosomal miRNAs in IgA Nephropathy: A Clinical Observational Study’. The award will carry a prize of Rs. 2 lakh, a citation and a gold medallion.
The Renny Abraham TANKER Foundation Love for Service Award for a medical doctor who has gone beyond the call of duty in serving the underprivileged is being awarded to Dr. M.K. Srinivasan. He is 98 years old and has been serving the needy for over 60 years. The award will carry a prize of Rs. 1 lakh, a citation and a gold medallion.
The K. Venkatanarayana TANKER Foundation Awareness Award, given to an individual for creating awareness of any disease, mental, physical and social, is being awarded to Dr. Usha Sriram for her exceptional efforts in raising awareness about diabetes in girls and women through her NGO, DIWAS. The award will carry a prize of Rs. 1 lakh, a citation and a gold medallion.
The La Renon TANKER Foundation For the Sake of Honour Award, given to an individual who has done exemplary work in his or her field, is being awarded to Mr. V. Gururajan, post-transplant survivor for 32 years. The award will carry a prize of Rs. 1 lakh, a citation and a gold medallion.
The La Renon TANKER Foundation Lifetime Achievement Awards, given to two individuals who have done exemplary work in the field of nephrology, is being awarded to Dr. Sanjay Pande, Gujarat, and Dr. Praveen Namboodiri, Kerala, who have served tirelessly in the field of kidney disease. The award will carry a prize of Rs. 1 lakh, a citation and a gold medallion each.
The Ashok Sankaralingam TANKER Foundation Patient Endowment, is a one-year dialysis support given for four underprivileged patients with kidney failure, with a purse of Rs. 2 lakh.
The programme will not draw to a close without honouring TANKER staff and well–wishers.
