A screening camp was organised by Mrs. Mary Esther, a patient of the Ambattur dialysis unit, under the ‘Prevention Through Patient Programme’ of the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) of TANKER Foundation at the Emmanuvel Methodist Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Puthur, Chennai, Tuesday, November 18, 2025. Dr. Prakash Shankar guided the TAPP team of Mrs. Ramapriya, Mrs. Deepa and Mrs. Bhuvana, and volunteer, Mr. Sathish.

Remarks: The screening camp was organised by Mrs. Mary Esther, a patient of the Ambattur dialysis unit, under the ‘Prevention Through Patient Programme’ of the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program.
While eight individuals had elevated blood sugar levels, five of them were newly-detected cases.
Of the 13 participants found to have high blood pressure, 12 were newly-identified cases.
The presence of glucose in urine, indicating possible high blood sugar, was found in three participants.
Based on these findings, five high-risk individuals were referred to the nearest primary health centre (PHC) for further evaluation and follow-up care.
