Not forgetting protocols for the pandemic, there was a gala inauguration of the Thiruvottiyur dialysis centre of the TANKER Foundation by Tamil Nadu Medical and Family Welfare Minister, Mr. Ma. Subramanian, Monday, June 28, 2021.
The dialysis centre has come up in the Urban Community Health Centre at Thiruvottiyur by the joint effort of Rotary Club of Madras Central Aadithya, Rotary Club of Madras West and TANKER Foundation. The unit was declared open by the Minister in the presence of TANKER Foundation Managing-Trustee, Ms. Latha A. Kumaraswami, and Foundation Deputy General Manager, Mrs. S Geetha.
Rotarians, District Governor of RI District 3232, Mr. S. Muthu Palaniappan, President of RC Madras Central Aadithya, Mr. S. Ramkumar, and President of RC Madras West, Mr. D. Giridhar, were present.
Chennai North Member of Parliament, Mr. Kalanidhi Veeraswamy, Thiruvottiyur MLA, Mr. K.P. Shankar, and Madhavaram MLA, Mr. S. Sudharsanam, participated.
The dialysis centre has its genesis in the Rotary Global Grant Project.
Senior Manager of GCC-UCHC TANKER Foundation Dialysis Center, Perungudi, Mr. V Umasankar, and Thiruvottiyur unit Manager, Mr. Vinoth Kumar, played an active role during the inauguration.
