The Greater Chennai Corporation, Rotary Club of Madras East, TANKER Foundation Dialysis Unit at Valluvarkottam got its 19th dialysis machine thanks to the liberal donation of Sri Ramachandra Trust and Mangal Tirth Estate Ltd.
The new dialysis machine was inaugurated by Mr. N. Ramachandran of Sri Ramachandra Trust, and Mr. M. Balasubramaniam of Mangal Tirth Estate Ltd, recently. With this generous donation more kidney patients will benefit in and around the Valluvarkottam area.
TANKER Foundation Managing-Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami welcomed the donors and gave an update of TANKER and said so far, we have done more than 4 lakh free and subsidised dialysis through our 12 dialysis centres thanks to valuable support from the CMCHIS, Greater Chennai Corporation and various Rotary Clubs, Freemasons, Round Table and other donors.
TANKER has given donations of Rs. 3.49 crores towards medications and investigation costs. TANKER has conducted 1,279 awareness programmes reaching out to 1.8 lakh people and over 35,810 people have been screened for kidney disease. She also deeply appreciated the TANKER staff and called them Angels on Earth, doing selfless service.
Mr. Ramachandran praised TANKER’s dedicated service and our wonderful staff. Mr. Balasubramaniam and Mr. Vijay of Mangal Tirth Estate Ltd said they would continue to help TANKER in all our activities.
