Mr. Lars D’Hondt from Netherlands, who is bikepacking in India, stopped by at the TANKER Foundation dialysis unit at Valluvarkottam, Wednesday, March 25, 2026.
The 24-year-old youth was warmly received by TANKER Foundation Head Admin, Mrs. Vasanthi Ravichander, who gave him a guided tour of the unit and informed him about the services being rendered by TANKER to the underprivileged.
She presented Mr. Lars with the TANKER memento, which is a personalised, special, ceramic mug. It contains a map indicating the location of the 15 dialysis units run by TANKER and the images of the trustees, the Head of the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program, and TANKER CME Committee members.
He was also handed the TANKER Foundation brochure that contains all details about the organisation.
TANKER Foundation volunteer, Ms. Archana, accompanied Mrs. Vasanthi Ravichander during Mr. Lars’ visit to the unit.
ABOUT MR. LARS
Mr. Lars embarked on a cycle tour of the world -Tour de Lars – March 16, 2025, from Europe, planning to cycle his way through Europe, across the vast landscapes of Central Asia, then making his way through China, South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and finally the USA. “A trip that could take me anywhere from 2 to 3 years,” he writes on his Instagram handle.
Mr. Lars is raising funds through his world tour for the Heaven Hill Academy, founded by Shamser Thapa in Nepal, which provides ‘free, peaceful and violence-free education for all their students’.
