A total of 51 employees of the Church of Christ, Kannikapuram, Pulianthope, Chennai, were screened at the camp conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation Saturday, March 28, 2006. Dr. Francis Britto guided the TAPP team of Mrs. Ramapriya, Mr. Hemeshwaran and Mrs. Deepa.

Remarks: The findings of the screening camp at the Church of Christ, Kannikapuram, Pulianthope, Chennai, revealed that 33 individuals had elevated blood sugar levels and 27 participants had high blood pressure.
Among them, 21 diabetes cases and 18 high blood pressure cases were newly-detected, highlighting the presence of undiagnosed conditions within the community.
Additionally, 13 participants showed abnormalities in the urine test, indicating potential kidney-related concerns.
A total of 22 high-risk individuals were referred to the nearest primary health centre (PHC) for further medical evaluation and follow-up care.
Dr. Francis Britto provided valuable dietary advice and emphasised the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to prevent and manage these conditions.
The camp played a crucial role in early detection, creating awareness about regular health check-ups, and encouraging preventive healthcare practices among the participants.
