TANKER Foundation was honoured to welcome Mr. Katta Ravi Teja, IAS, Commissioner, Coimbatore Corporation, to its dialysis unit during his recent visit.
During the visit, the Commissioner reviewed the functioning of the dialysis centre and enquired about the available dialysis infrastructure, the number of machines in operation, the commencement of services, and the current patient utilisation levels.
The TANKER Foundation team briefed him on the unit’s operations, including the number of dialysis shifts conducted and the number of patients currently receiving care. Discussions also focused on improving accessibility and ensuring that more patients who require dialysis support are able to benefit from the facility.
The Commissioner sought insights regarding patient utilisation at the centre. The team highlighted that limited public awareness about the availability of the facility has been one of the factors affecting utilisation. Efforts are being made to strengthen awareness among the community and ensure that patients in need are connected with timely kidney care.
The team also shared that awareness materials had been prepared for display at Primary Health Centres (PHCs) to help spread information about the dialysis services available.
The visit reflects the importance of collaboration between healthcare organisations and civic bodies in improving access to essential medical care. TANKER Foundation continues to work towards its mission of providing affordable and accessible dialysis support for individuals living with Chronic Kidney Disease.
During the visit, a TANKER Foundation memento was offered to Mr. Katta Ravi Teja as a token of appreciation, which he graciously declined.
TANKER Foundation remains committed to expanding kidney care awareness and ensuring that quality dialysis services reach those who need them most.
