It was a deeply humbling and memorable moment for Dr. Georgi Abraham, Founder, Founder-Trustee and Chairman of TANKER Foundation, as he met His Holiness the Dalai Lama at McLeod Ganj, Himachal Pradesh, and received his blessings for the continued work of TANKER Foundation.
During the meeting on Saturday, May 23, 2026, Dr. Georgi Abraham shared with His Holiness the mission and work of TANKER Foundation, including its efforts in providing free and subsidised dialysis care, spreading awareness about kidney diseases, conducting screening camps for early detection, and supporting kidney disease research.

Dr. Georgi also highlighted the increasing burden of kidney disease, particularly among underprivileged communities, and discussed the need for accessible kidney care services in regions where such support is limited.

Recognising the healthcare needs of patients in McLeod Ganj and surrounding areas of Himachal Pradesh, Dr. Georgi Abraham expressed TANKER Foundation’s commitment towards supporting the establishment of a dialysis centre in the region. The initiative aims to provide free and subsidised dialysis services to patients living with Chronic Kidney Disease.

His Holiness the Dalai Lama extended his blessings to TANKER Foundation, its team, supporters, volunteers, and all the patients whose lives are touched through its work.
