When it comes to creating awareness and holding screening camps for kidney health / diseases, everybody chips in. In this case at Senji Panambakkam, the screening camp was organised by Mr. Rahul, Dialysis Technician, Padi dialysis unit of TANKER Foundation, Sunday, January 11, 2026. The camp was conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation, which was guided by Dr. Kabilan.

Remarks: The screening camp was organised by Mr. Rahul, Dialysis Technician, Padi dialysis unit of TANKER Foundation.
Mr. Gughanathan, Area Manager, provided guidance to all participants on kidney health, diabetes and hypertension, emphasising preventive measures and the importance of early detection.
In all, 33 individuals had elevated blood sugar levels, 12 of whom were newly-detected cases.
Also, 24 participants were found to have high blood pressure, including 17 newly-identified cases.
While 13 participants showed the presence of glucose, two participants showed the presence of protein in their urine, indicating possible high blood sugar and kidney-related complications.
Based on these findings, 23 high-risk individuals were referred to the nearest primary health centre (PHC) for further evaluation and follow-up.
