An Immunology Laboratory was inaugurated at The Madras Medical Mission through funding support from Aptus Value Housing Finance India Limited and facilitated by the TANKER Foundation. The objective of the initiative is to strengthen diagnostic services and extend vital healthcare support to economically-disadvantaged patients.
On Friday, May 15, 2026, Mr. M. Anandan, Founder & Executive Chairman of Aptus Value Housing Finance India Limited, and his wife, Mrs. Padma Anandan, inaugurated the new Immunology Laboratory.
TANKER Foundation Founder Trustee and Chairman, Dr. Georgi Abraham, stated that the laboratory was a “dream come true” and emphasised the importance of establishing such a specialised facility to support patient care and diagnosis. He also said the initiative marks another important milestone in improving access to quality healthcare services for patients requiring advanced diagnostic support.
The laboratory will significantly benefit patients by enabling timely and accurate immunological investigations. He added that the opportunity to set up this laboratory was now a reality thanks to the support and commitment of Aptus, MMM and TANKER.
Mr. Anandan mentioned that Aptus Value Housing Finance India Limited supported the entire laboratory infrastructure and equipment as part of its commitment towards healthcare and social responsibility. He highlighted that Aptus was helping in many healthcare initiatives, such as setting up labs and postoperative wards, and in the field of education, to name a few.
TANKER Foundation Managing Trustee, Mrs. Latha A. Kumaraswami, highlighted the 33 years of journey and service of TANKER Foundation.
