An awareness programme was conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at the Udhavum Ullangal Skill Development Centre in Chromepet, Chennai, Wednesday, May 20, 2026, during which TAPP Program Coordinator, Mrs. Ramapriya, gave a detailed talk on maintaining kidney health.

Remarks: In all, 54 women trainees and teachers participated in the awareness programme on kidney health conducted at the Udhavum Ullangal Skill Development Centre in Chromepet.
The introductory talk was given by intern, Ms. Jeyalakshmi, from Madurai Institute of Social Sciences.
Program Coordinator, Mrs. Ramapriya, delivered an informative talk focusing on the major causes of kidney diseases and their impact on women’s health. She explained how unhealthy food habits, lack of physical activity, stress, diabetes, high blood pressure and inadequate water intake can increase the risk of kidney-related problems among women.
The session also emphasised the importance of maintaining a healthy lifestyle to prevent kidney diseases.
The participants were encouraged to follow balanced nutrition, do regular exercise, have proper hydration, do routine health check-ups and undertake stress management practices to improve overall health and kidney wellness.
