A total of 70 people participated in the screening camp conducted by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation at Komarapalayam, Namakkal, Monday, February 9, 2026. Dr. Tharun guided the TAPP team during the camp along with the Tiruppur team members.

Remarks: The screening camp was referred by Mr. Raman from Daasya Trust. The team received a warm welcome and effective local coordination support from Mr. Prakash of Vidiyal Arambam Foundation.
Of the 70 participants, 31 individuals had elevated blood sugar levels and 30 had high blood pressure. Among them, 14 were newly-identified with high blood sugar and 19 were newly-detected with high blood pressure.
Additionally, 20 individuals showed abnormalities in the urine test, and 45 participants had a BMI above the normal range.
TAPP Head, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, provided personalised health counselling to all participants. Guidance was given on managing BMI, blood pressure and blood sugar levels through a balanced diet, regular exercise and healthy lifestyle modifications.
Based on the test results, 18 high-risk individuals were referred to the nearest primary health centre (PHC) for further medical evaluation and follow-up.
