An awareness programme was conducted at Mother Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Kalavai, in Ranipet district, by the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation, Saturday, February 7, 2026, benefiting 320 students and teaching staff. Mrs. Rajalakshmi – TAPP Head, led the TAPP team.

Remarks: The awareness programme was organised in two sessions to effectively address different age groups. Session 1 was led by Mr. Hemeshwaran for 140 students from 9th to 11th standards along with their class teachers. The session focused on the importance of kidney health, highlighting uncontrolled blood pressure and blood sugar as major risk factors for kidney disease. Mr. Hemeshwaran emphasised the impact of unhealthy food habits and advised students to reduce their intake of sugar and salt to prevent future health complications.
Session 2 was conducted by Mrs. Bhuvana for 180 students from 6th to 8th standards along with their class teachers. She delivered the session in an interactive and engaging manner through games and activities that helped students understand the importance of avoiding junk food, excess salt and sugar, and encouraged them to adopt healthy lifestyle habits for better kidney care.
