As part of its ongoing commitment to promoting kidney health and preventing kidney disease through education, TANKER Foundation conducted a Kidney Health Awareness Programme at GRT College of Nursing, Tiruttani, on 30 June 2026.
The programme was attended by 180 nursing students and was led by Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, Head – TAPP (TANKER Awareness and Prevention Programme).
The session focused on the importance of adopting healthy lifestyle practices to protect kidney health. Students were educated on maintaining adequate hydration, following a balanced and nutritious diet, engaging in regular physical activity, and reducing excessive salt and sugar intake. The programme also highlighted the impact of diabetes and high blood pressure on kidney health, emphasising the importance of early prevention and timely intervention.
The session was highly interactive, with students actively participating in discussions and asking questions about kidney disease prevention and healthy living. The enthusiastic response reflected the growing interest among future healthcare professionals in promoting preventive healthcare within their communities.
Through its awareness initiatives, TANKER Foundation continues to educate students, healthcare professionals, and the public about the importance of early detection and prevention of kidney disease. By empowering future nurses with the right knowledge, the Foundation hopes to create stronger advocates for kidney health and contribute towards healthier communities.
