Work for the World Kidney Day, observed Thursday, March 12, 2026, began well before the date for the TANKER Awareness and Prevention Program (TAPP) team of TANKER Foundation as they put together various activities to mark the most important day in TANKER Foundation’s calendar.
On World Kidney Day, the TAPP team, led by its Head, Mrs. Rajalakshmi Ravi, hit the road running.
The TAPP team organised a road show with conservancy staff – 150 in number – at 7H bus terminus. They stood wearing caps, holding placards, sending out the message of preserving kidneys.
Local Councillor, Mr Thilakar, and his team participated and he briefly advised them to be careful about blood sugar and blood pressure. He also informed that the tests were done free of cost at the TAPP office in Ambattur Rotary Hospital.
TAPP team members, Mr. Guganathan, Ms. Ramapriya, Ms. Bhuvana and Ms. Deepa, participated in the event that drew a lot of attention from the public.
TANKER Foundation patient Sathish volunteered to distribute the leaflets and helped it reach a large number of people.
